| We are joined by the wonderful Jean Martin for an issue that takes a look at the Hugos in various ways! Cheryl Morgan looks at diversity in Hugo winners in many dimensions, and Cora Buhlert looks at one of Fritz Lieber's legendary stories. Chris Garcia and Kristy Baxter bring their podcast Short Story Short Podcast to the pages of Journey Planet as they look at the Best Short Story nominees, Jean interviews the amazing Hugo winning Fan Artist Maurine Starkey, and James Bacon looks at Best Graphic Story. I've lost 14 of the damned things, and will never be nominated again. Twice I lost to nominees that weren't fanzines at all -- once a semiprozine, once a podcast. That was b.s. Aside from those idiocies, the only time losing ever really bugged me was when my wife became convinced my Challenger was going to win -- and was so disappointed when I didn't. Hooray for Journey Planet, fanzinedom's last stand against the vapidity of the blog.
